Reimagining the Civic Commons
Civic Commons is a new initiative funded by four non-profit foundations – The JPB Foundation, The Knight Foundation, The Kresge Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation to reinvigorate civic assets like public parks, libraries and other spaces in cities across the country. They are starting with 5 cities and a grant of $40 Million – creating new public parks in Memphis and connecting neighborhoods with greenways in Detroit. We were asked to create an introductory film to help explain what the concept of Civic Commons is and to illustrate why it’s so important to the fabric of our communities.
