The Motion Graphic Design Cen­sus is finally done. It was quite a project and learn­ing process. The actual sur­vey itself was huge. Too huge. Too many ques­tions and too many respon­dents — over 5500 from all over the world. The results are mixed. I’d love to have been able to get more detailed about regional dif­fer­nces or cat­e­go­rize each job by state. But, that’ll have to wait for the 2011 Sur­vey (hint, hint).

Any­way, l’ve got­ten lots of great feed­back from grate­ful Motion Design­ers who have been search­ing out infor­ma­tion like this for years with­out find­ing any­thing com­pre­hen­sive. I think it’s an impor­tant first step to hav­ing open, freely acces­si­ble infor­ma­tion about our indus­try out there. I’m glad to have done it and only sorry it took so long.
